Combined dual-horizontal-axis cooling chart
The vertical axis is standard-probe temperature; the bottom axis is cooling time; the top axis is instantaneous cooling rate at the corresponding temperature.
Address through-hardening, cracking resistance and alloy cost in the same casting—where air cooling involves difficult trade-offs.
AR-HCCI is Anran’s flagship quenchant for high-chromium cast iron wear parts, including hammers, grinding balls and liners. Cooling matched to the material and temperature range improves quenching in heavy sections. The focus extends beyond as-quenched hardness to wear and fracture resistance in service.
Maximum cooling-rate range: 8–13°C/s.Anran’s technical team will advise on application conditions for your workpiece.
Historical measured curves below retain their individual test conditions. Select any one to four records to compare the curves and table together.
The vertical axis is standard-probe temperature; the bottom axis is cooling time; the top axis is instantaneous cooling rate at the corresponding temperature.
Selecting a condition above updates both curves and its table row.

Compare the critical temperature intervals, time to the target temperature and cooling intensity at lower temperatures—not only the maximum cooling rate. Anran’s technical team provides preparation and application guidance for the specific workpiece.

Faster cooling in the high-temperature range helps the workpiece pass through the interval that affects formation of the required matrix. At lower temperatures, differences in temperature and stress between locations need to be managed. AR-HCCI is designed around this balance, not the fastest possible cooling throughout the cycle.
Application guidance is matched to the workpiece material and dimensions.
In heavy hammers and liners, a hard surface with an insufficiently hardened interior can limit performance as wear progresses. Anran combines temperature records at different depths with section hardness and microstructure checks to assess actual hardening and surface-to-core consistency.
Higher hardness must be considered alongside fracture resistance. Each grade and section requires its own balance to avoid sacrificing the overall properties needed in service.
Air-cooled material designs may rely on nickel, molybdenum and other additions to provide sufficient hardenability. Changing the actual cooling path allows the alloy design to be reassessed, rather than simply adding quenchant cost to an unchanged composition.
Anran reviews target properties, composition and workpiece results together to identify opportunities to reduce alloy input and scrap while maintaining wear performance. The extent of any adjustment is determined for the particular casting.
AR-HCCI can be purchased independently and matched to your existing workpieces, equipment and process. A tester, fixture or intelligent system is not a prerequisite for buying the quenchant.

For purchasing, tell us the quantity you need. For technical advice, start with the grade, largest section or current problem. A reply email and a short message are enough; original curves and drawings are optional.
The measured curves above show the cooling response under four report conditions. The production footage below shows real furnace exit, lifting, transfer and preparation for immersion of high-chromium cast-iron hammers. Together they connect medium response with shop-floor practice.
Production footage shows loading, lifting, transfer and immersion. Anran’s technical team advises on quenchant use and handling for the specific casting.
This is real production footage, but it is not presented as the same test batch as the cooling-characteristic reports above. The curves describe medium response; the video describes production actions and timing.

Data classification
Every curve and conclusion on this site is identified by how the data was obtained.
Describes the medium response for the stated probe and test conditions. It is not the surface or core curve of a production workpiece.
Calculated from a stated model and inputs. It is a prediction, not measured production data.
Comes from internal points in the actual workpiece and is used to assess the real cooling process against post-quench hardness, microstructure and properties.
